StyleCraft Homes Named Builder of the Year

June 11, 2025

StyleCraft Homes has built something truly special in Virginia.

The Greater Richmond-based, family-owned company has been named Virginia’s Builder of the Year by the Home Builders Association of Virginia (HBAV).

The award, based on the builder’s 2024  performance, was announced at the HBAV’s 6th Annual Housing Excellence Awards, held at The Omni Homestead Resort on June 5.

“What makes this award truly meaningful is that it doesn’t go to the builder that constructs the most homes, earns the most revenue, or has been around the longest,” said Jeremy Knicely, Vice President of Homebuilding at StyleCraft.  “It’s not solely about philanthropy or industry involvement. This award goes to the builder that excels in all of those areas — a builder that strives to be excellent in everything that they do.”

StyleCraft does indeed check all of those boxes — consistently executing with excellence — including the building of more than 3,500 homes over 25 years and raising nearly $10 million as a St. Jude Dream Home Builder since 2018.

With more than 300 builders currently active in Virginia, the recognition aligns with a period of robust growth for the Lakeside-based builder. In 2024 alone, StyleCraft celebrated a quarter century of building homes in Central Virginia and expanded its corporate headquarters.

“At the heart of our success is our visionary Richard Kuhn, who has guided us with innovation and a relentless pursuit of excellence,” Knicely added of StyleCraft’s president, who co-founded the business with his father in 1999.

Looking ahead, StyleCraft’s new projects include The Crossings at Mulberry, a Henrico townhome community offering special pricing to attract first-time homebuyers, as well as Pomeroy Park, the builder’s first New Kent community.

Knicely cites a strong inclination toward collaboration, a thriving culture, and a shared desire to always put forth that extra effort as reasons for StyleCraft’s sustained success.

“All of us are pulling in the same direction — both team members and valued trade partners — enjoying the work we do and the people we do it with. That’s what enables us to create communities that inspire people to live up,” he said. “And that’s what earned us this recognition.”
