Homebuyer Frequently Asked Questions

Do you have questions about StyleCraft and our building experience? Here are a few frequently asked questions that we receive from future homebuyers and current homeowners that will help guide you through your StyleCraft building experience.

    DO I NEED TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT TO VISIT A MODEL HOME?

    Walk-in visits are welcome and encouraged; be sure to check out our community pages for Model Home hours. We also provide the option of scheduling a private or virtual appointment. You can book your appointment on Calendly, which can be accessed by navigating to the community you’re interested in, and scrolling down to “Contact.”

      WHERE DOES STYLECRAFT BUILD HOMES?

      StyleCraft builds around Central Virginia, including Greater Richmond and the counties of Chesterfield, Goochland, Hanover, and Henrico. We carefully vet potential sites and communities, evaluating them for everything from quality and size of lot to proximity to highways, top-rated schools, shopping, restaurants, fitness centers, and healthcare offices.         WHAT DO STYLECRAFT COMMUNITIES OFFER HOMEBUYERS?

        At StyleCraft, we believe that a community is much more than a home alone. The communities we build in include a number of amenities designed both to provide convenient options for downtime and recreation, and to bring neighbors together. Depending on the community, amenities may include a pool, fitness center, clubhouse, pavilion, walking trails, community garden, and others.

          WHAT ARE YOUR LIFESTYLES?

          We create homes for people who want to enhance their everyday lives, and we call this approach “Live Up.” It’s a simple philosophy at the heart of everything we do. This is why we don’t merely design and build homes. Rather, we offer Lifestyles. These include Gateway Homes, which offer a convenient, streamlined building experience for those building their lives on a budget, including first-time homebuyers. StyleCraft Expressions Homes are designed for families uniquely on the grow and on the go.             CAN I BUY A HOME REMOTELY OR VIRTUALLY?

            Yes. We have built our virtual homebuying experience to mirror the in-person process, without ever having to leave your current home. This includes looking for and exploring our homes, connecting with the StyleCraft team, and completing the mortgage and settlement process. Take a closer look at our seamless virtual home buying experience.

              HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO BUILD A NEW HOME WITH STYLECRAFT?

              In short, there are a lot of factors that go into determining a specific timeframe — including sales pace, community development, weather, etc. However, we typically estimate anywhere between 6-7 months for construction to be completed on a home from groundbreaking to closing. If you don’t want to wait that long, we have Quick Move-In Homes that provide all the benefits of new construction, within an expedited timeframe.

                WHAT ARE QUICK MOVE-IN HOMES?

                Quick Move-In Homes are new homes that are already under construction, or ready for to be moved in. Our Quick Move-In Homes eliminate the typical new-construction wait while still offering you all the benefits of a new StyleCraft home. See our available Quick Move-In Homes.

                  DO YOU MAKE YOUR MODEL HOMES AVAILABLE FOR SALE?

                  After Model Homes have served their purpose within a community they are available for purchase. There are many benefits to purchasing a StyleCraft Model home: they’re often built on one of the best homesites in a community, they include details and touches often not typically available, and they’re outfitted with the highest quality design selections throughout. See our available Model Homes.

                    HOW DO I PERSONALIZE MY NEW HOME?

                    Depending on the Lifestyle, community, and floor plan you select, you’ll be able to build your style into your home through one of two ways. These include visiting our nearly 2,000-sq.-ft. Design Studio, where you can personalize the interior and exterior of your home by selecting design features for flooring, lighting, appliances, and more. Other homebuyers will have the opportunity to select design features for your new home from curated design packages — all handpicked by our interior designer. Each design package features modern styles that will make your house feel like a “home.”

                      WHAT IS A 55+ COMMUNITY?

                      A 55-plus community is designed around those aged 55 and better seeking first-floor living homes in a low-maintenance community. With included lawn care and an unbeatable 2-year Home Maintenance Plan, you’ll be able to put time back on your side while enjoying community amenities designed around you! Learn more about our Freestyle communities.

                        HOW DO I FINANCE MY NEW HOME?

                        StyleCraft provides plenty of resources and partners to ensure financing your new home is a user-friendly, transparent experience. These include our Preferred Lenders, who we meet with weekly to ensure your home loan stays on track.

                          CAN I TOUR HOMES UNDER CONSTRUCTION?

                          To ensure your safety, we do not allow any unaccompanied parties to tour homes under construction. However, if you visit our Model Home, our New Home Sales Consultant can provide you with hard hats and take you on a tour of an under-construction home. In addition to a hard-hat, you must also wear close-toed shoes during any of these tours.

                            CAN I MAKE CHANGES TO MY FLOOR PLAN?

                            Yes, although our floor plans are designed in-house to meet all of your needs, we know that homes are not one-size-fits-all. With that in mind, we have approved Structural Options with each floor plan. When you meet with your New Home Sales Consultant to review available floor plans, they will be sure to show you how you can personalize your space to best fit your needs.
