St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway Kick-Off: What You Need to Know

We have some exciting news to share: we’re making the St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway a reality right here in RVA. And the hard work begins today.

You may already be familiar with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, which not only focuses on treating and curing life-threatening diseases facing children, but does so at no cost to the patients and their families. The St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway is a collaboration among St. Jude, a local builder — StyleCraft Homes here in Central Virginia — and the entire community. The goal is to build a beautiful home at a net zero cost, sell $100 raffle tickets for the home and other great prizes, and then use those funds to fuel all the great work St. Jude is doing to make children healthier and happier.

StyleCraft Homes, our trade partners, as well as other generous companies and individuals recently gathered to kick off this huge undertaking at a Bricks and Sticks launch event for the St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway. Here, more than 60 attendees representing 40+ companies met to hear from a local family who shared their touching story about how St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital saved their child’s life.

Afterward, St. Jude team members ran attendees through the process, from groundbreaking to the big drawing. The event culminated with companies enthusiastically committing to donate the needed materials and labor to make the St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway happen at no cost.

This is just the first step in a long journey to build the St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway house. We’ll need the entire Greater Richmond Community to rally around this amazing project, whether you’re buying tickets or volunteering your time. The great news is that we’re off to a fantastic start! We have a ton of momentum and positive energy, a great group of companies, and a plan we can’t wait to put together.
